We are now accepting bookings from Transition Year students who wish to go to France during the academic year at a time of their own choosing and who can welcome their exchange partner back to Ireland during the academic year or over the course of the summer.
The Transition Year Programme has proved to be a very popular option amongst our students in recent years. It is especially suitable for students who wish to get a little more out of transition year and going to France is the ideal opportunity to develop their language proficiency skills while also immersing themselves in the French culture. Irish students may attend school for the entirety of their time in France or can choose a period which will mean that they are only in school for part of their stay and are on holidays with their partner for the remainder.
Transition Year exchange stays are typically for 3 weeks and the cost is €750. The price includes return flights to France, baggage, the services of a dedicated contact while in France as well as all of the organisational costs. Any students wishing to travel for longer periods should contact us directly.
We also offer a Homestay Programme to transition year students who wish to go to France at a time of their own choosing during the school year and who do not wish a French student to return. A three week Homestay Programme costs €2,450. The price includes remuneration costs for the host family, return flights to France, baggage, the services of a dedicated French contact as well as all of the organisational costs. Any students wishing to travel for longer periods should contact us directly.
Students on both the Exchange and Homestay Programmes will be placed in families where there is a student of a similar age to themselves. They will experience normal family life in France and will be encouraged to participate in all family and school activities.
Should any student have any problem whatsoever while in France, they will be able to contact their dedicated French organisers at any time, day or night; their contact details will be issued to each student prior to departure. The Irish organisers are also in regular contact with their French counterparts and are committed to resolving any problem that may arise as quickly and efficiently as possible.
TY Students now have the option of attending boarding school in France for three weeks or longer if requested. Students will board on campus during the week and attend classes throughout the day. There are many different activities organised in the evenings throughout the week. At the weekends, students will stay with a host family of a student who attends the school.
